There’s nothing more inspirational than coming across a crafter who has decided to turn their passion into their profession. Step forward Petra Hatton (pictured above with a colleague), who Smith and I had the pleasure of chatting to at the Ideal Home Show at Christmas last Friday.
Petra’s company – Cleopatra Interiors – offers the most stunning array of homely treasures that will have home birds chirping with delight. The creativity and care behind her range marks Cleopatra Interiors as one to watch. Amongst many gems, Petra’s unique antler coffee table and perfectly upholstered chests and armchairs particularly caught the How-To Home’s eye…
When chatting to Petra, (who is lovely by the way!), we were thrilled to learn that the material she designs is produced by a mill in Lancashire. Not only does Petra use British material, but she produces her creations at her base in Hertfordshire.
As Smith and I walked away from her perfectly designed stall at the show, we quickly came to the satisfying conclusion that Petra is a true advocate of British crafting and an inspiration to many a crafter who’s in two minds whether to go pro.
Petra’s website is currently under construction but do keep checking it as you have to see her handiwork in action – it’s truly inspirational. Here’s some pictures from her stall at the show to keep you going in the mean time…
Beautifully British materials from Cleopatra Interiors
Stripy chest, red velvet armchair, union jack cushion and Humpty Dumpty! LOVE.
Antler table – I love how it looks as though it’s growing out from the ground. Very natural-looking.
Flower bud cushion: red, white and blue – would have made a great wedding gift for Wills & Kate.
Stool, napkins, cushions, doorstops – love, love, love… and love.
