It’s fair to say that I have quite a royal theme going on in my living room. My favourite find is this Royal Crest, which takes pride of place on my wall…

I first spotted it at Portobello Road Market and regretted not buying it. Then saw one again at Taste of Christmas festival, but was going for drinks straight afterwards so couldn’t take it home. It took weeks of searching afterwards but I finally found a seller on ebay…

By Bailey

House To Home

A trend that’s slowly but surely trotting its way into our homes is furnishings inspired by Britain’s wildlife. From elegant deer to mischievous squirrels, homes across the country have decided to bring the outdoors indoors – be it on wallpaper, cushions or plates. These are my favourite finds, which I’ll be adding to my lust list this Spring…

How-To: Sew a Union Jack Cushion

By SmithHow To Make A Union Jack Cushion

As I’ve mentioned previously I am incredibly patriotic. I love the Queen, (she’s so sweet!) I think Prince Philip is a hoot – and I never fail to warm to the princes and princesses and their posh Royal Britishness…

So, when I saw Union Jack tea towels at the Ideal Home Show at Christmas last Friday, I just knew I had to buy them and fashion them into something lovely in honour of Her Madge. Bailey’s Favourite Find at the Ideal Home Show at Christmas

By Bailey

There’s nothing more inspirational than coming across a crafter who has decided to turn their passion into their profession. Step forward Petra Hatton (pictured above with a colleague), who Smith and I had the pleasure of chatting to at the Ideal Home Show at Christmas last Friday.

Petra’s company – Cleopatra Interiors – offers the most stunning array of homely treasures that will have home birds chirping with delight. The creativity and care behind her range marks Cleopatra Interiors as one to watch. Amongst many gems, Petra’s unique antler coffee table and perfectly upholstered chests and armchairs particularly caught the How-To Home’s eye…

Smith’s Round Up Of The Ideal Home Christmas Show

By Smith

Ahh what a week we’ve had here at the How-To Home! Not only have we launched our blog after quite a few months planning, we also had the pleasure of visiting the Ideal Home Christmas Show at Earls Court on Friday. We met so many great British designers and crafters (and also snuck in a bit of obligatory shopping!) and we came away with so much inspiration for things to do and make in our homes.

Here’s my photo round up of the show… Enjoy!
