This is my ‘wicked’ rice pudding recipe as it includes rum. It makes a great dessert at winter dinner parties or if you just want something sweet and warming during a night in.

Every time I go home for Christmas, I find myself spending 90% of my time in the kitchen. Whether I’m devouring bowls upon bowls of Mama Bailey’s nibbles and dip or donning a festive apron and cooking/baking to my heart’s content – the kitchen is the epicentre of festive treats, compilation CDs and catch ups.
As you know, Lambert and I are currently installing a new kitchen. As exciting as this is, it does limit my favourite festive pastime somewhat! I’ll just have to wait until we head to Sussex in a few days to really get going on my Nigella, Jamie, Gordon, Delia, and Mama Bailey-inspired dishes.
For now, I’ll share with you one of my successful dishes from a past Christmas – a starry jam tart. It’s the ideal sweet treat to have out on the side for people to help themselves to. It goes particularly well with a cup of tea in the afternoon or a scoop of vanilla ice cream in the evening.

This year for Tim’s birthday I decided to hunt down a new recipe as he had asked for lemon flavoured, chilled (not baked) cheesecake. I had already been discussing cheesecake recipes with the lovely Elle of Beaut-e on Twitter and she had shared some of her favourites (which I will share with you when I can warrant baking another cheesecake!) but as neither were lemon flavoured, I went on the hunt and finally ended up adapting a strawberry cheesecake recipe to come up with this little gem.
